Today’s story: DR. XIANG AND THE MOUTH IN HIS STOMACH by Adam Lucas
Dr. Xiang has an idea, a questionable theory, one that has the potential to end world hunger – in his opinion anyway. But he needs a candidate for his daring/terrifying experiment. Who will he select to be his medical miracle? The mother he lives with? The offended redneck at the grocery store? Will his dreams of “prestige and honor” be fulfilled by adding a mouth to everyone’s stomachs?

Every Day Fiction publishes “a new short story of 1000 words or fewer that can be read during your lunch hour, on transit, or even over breakfast.” They do this everyday! Seriously, this place is bookmarked as one of my favorites for that exact reason, I can get a quick read while I get a quick bite.
Today’s featurette is AUTUMN IN THE SHENANDOAH by Jennifer R. Fierro
Take a moment to escape to the Blue Ridge Mountains and watch as one family prepares to defend themselves against an event unlike any other.
