Six Sentence Sunday

Welcome to my sixth week of Six Sentence Sunday :D

This week we’re picking up from a little bit further in to my YA dystopian SSiP, SCARLET CITY.

And as a friendly reminder, here’s what’s happened: Sister Daytona has received a warning on her console and is currently having a security consult with the Senior Brother on Duty, Lyn. There is an unauthorized person, a Traveler, at the gate, and it’s after curfew [sunrise].

“Curious,” Lyn said. His light touch on my arm recaptured my attention and pushed my pulse off-beat. “Does the Traveler have something in their hand?” he whispered.

Squinting at the monitor, I thumbed the joystick forward to secure a better view for scanning. “Affirmative, it appears to be —” holo-images materialized from my panel, drawing, layer after layer, a smooth, egg shaped remnant from the Great Cleansing. “Whoa! It’s a palm bomb!”

  7. Ooh, palm bomb, Great Cleansing…sounds very dystopian and ominous. Now Lyn and Daytona? I’m more curious about their relationship

    • Kelly Said says:

      Hi Claire :D

I hope to satisfy those reader curiosities about the technology and the relationship between my two lead characters by the end of the story. :)

I appreciate you stopping by to read and comment! 8-)

  8. Well, the traveller is not too smart if he’s standing there holding a bomb on display… so, if he really wanted to bomb them, wouldn’t he have it hidden? So perhaps there’s more going on here…

    • Kelly Said says:

      Hi 1000th.monkey :)

Very astute observation. ;) Indeed, there is more going on here, hehehe! Thank you soooo much for wandering in to read and comment 8-)
